  • It's very easy for us. For most companies today, I think it should be a pretty simple, effective way of getting some sleep at night and not worrying about backups.

  • It is clear that this is a shift in technology that provides IPC with long-term benefits and less headaches. No more back-up window issues, no more failed tapes/tape drives. Our Disaster Recovery planning has become that much easier.

Oracle database is an Object Relational database created and maintained by Oracle Corporation. Oracle 10g is the latest version that offers enhanced security, concurrency control, transaction management, user role management, and support for various data types such as flat files, media files and binaries such as BLOB and CLOB. (As of when this article was written)

Compared to other databases such as MySQL, Oracle offers an attractive array of business-oriented features which are well-suited for high performance corporate computing.

For Example:

Authentication: MySQL uses a combination of username and password in addition to location which can be the hostname, IP address or any other relevant piece of information for user identification purposes. Oracle uses a simple form based authentication mechanism. Oracle supports the concept of unified login approach where the user uses the same piece of information while logging through different domains while MySQL allows the user to maintain a table of different authentication parameters that include a different set of username and password combinations while logging in through different domains.

Schema object differences: Schema objects are different in both MySQL and Oracle. For example Oracle uses uppercase letters to represent schema object names like AFTER trigger and BEFORE trigger. Oracle also differs from MySQL in terms of case sensitivity while considering table names since MySQL tables are stored in a format such that database name corresponds to directory and table names correspond to the files stored in the directory. In this representation, the table name is represented by the file name and hence operating system case sensitivity needs to be considered.

Of course, any Toronto company wanting to operate Oracle servers in Ontario will also want to ensure that these databases are properly defended. That’s why Toronto Oracle backup and Ontario Oracle backup are critical services for any data centre that relies on these databases.

Storagepipe Solutions has been providing online data protection solutions – including Toronto Oracle backup – for over ten years. They have a tremendous amount of experience in dealing with Toronto Oracle backup clients and accounts.
