NaSPA (The Network and Systems Professionals Association) recently published an article about current trends in data compliance and business continuity planning. The article goes on to talk about the role of data protection within the disaster recovery process. It also goes on to discuss some of the key considerations that companies should take into account when planning their data recovery implementation.

For example: Speed of recovery is important. That's why you must establish an order of importance to all of your critical and non-critical business data. You must have a way of quickly restoring the most critical first, before restoring the less important ones. This means regularly purging data that is old or obsolete. A powerful data archiving application can be very helpful in these situations.
