Business continuity & disaster recovery
is crucial
It's generally acknowledged that
business continuity and disaster recovery plans are critical to the health of
organizations. One key element is the consistent protection of corporate data,
allowing organizations to recreate their business climate at the drop of a hat,
if needed. More and more organizations are recognizing the need for a formal, structured
data backup and recovery plan.
adidas-Salomon Canada needed
easy backup & recovery
adidas-Salomon Canada is a
supplier of well-known of sports equipment and accessories. The company - based
on an AS/400 platform - banks about 200 GB of data with Storagepipe's Secure Backup
and Restore services. Prior to implementing Storagepipe's service, they
protected their data in a more traditional way, manually backing information
onto tapes, storing the tapes in a safe, or having someone take them home.
According to Paul Leone, Vice President of I.T. and Logistics, "The process was
manual, it required a resource, it required some coordination and it cost
money. It was just one of those things we didn't enjoy.
"We looked at other solutions including
an in-house automated solution, but it still meant we had to store tapes off
site somewhere."
Storagepipe's solution provides
regularly scheduled backups & easy data recovery
Storagepipe's Secure Backup and
Restore protects adidas-Salomon Canada's

usually due to common occurrences such as corrupt or deleted files. Storagepipe's
service is the result of a partnership between, Storagepipe Solutions, IBM, and

service provides scheduled, automated backups that are accomplished over a secure

for us. For most companies today, I think it should be a pretty simple,
effective way of getting some sleep at night and not worrying about backups."
